  • Westfield Founded

  • Methodists begin meeting in homes in Westfield
^
1865
  • The mortgage of the Congregational Church is taken over by the newly formed Westfield 1st Methodist (Westfield City Hall today)

1884
  • 1st Sunday School is formed
^
1920
  • Westfield 1st becomes a station – we receive our first pastor [A.C. Hoover] (we had been on a circuit)

1941
  • The first Annual Fish Fry
^
1968
  • The Evangelical United Brethren and Methodist merge to form the United Methodist Church
^
1971
  • Our Preschool begins
^
1974
  • Purchased 7 acres north of Penn Street and began construction on a building (our current location)
^
1975
  • Eagletown, Jolietville, and Westfield Methodist churches merge to form Christ UMC
^
1977
  • First service is held in the new sanctuary
^
1986
  • The Education Wing is built
^
2002
  • The Family Life Center (FLC) completed
^
2008
  • Worship moves to the FLC in preparation for a new worship space
^
2009
  • The former sanctuary renovated to become The Gathering Place
^
