1975
Planning for the Future
Eagletown, Jolietville, and Westfield Methodist churches join together to form Christ United Methodist Church.
1986
For the Children
The growing preschool creates need and opportunity for the new Education Wing. This project was completed almost entirely with volunteer labor of the congregation and their friends!
2002
Investing in Community
The Family Life Center is completed with hopes of being a space for community and activities for our church and the Westfield community.
2008
Planning for Expansion
The congregation begins worship in the Family Life Center with plans to build a new sanctuary to the west of the sanctuary of that time. In 2009, the sanctuary is renovated into the current Gathering Space as a place of community that would also serve as a beautiful foyer for the proposed new building. In 2009, Christ United Methodist reached its largest attendance with more than 280 in average weekly worship attendance.
2023
Settling into our Space
After worshiping in the Family Life Center for 15 years, the space is remodeled and rededicated in November 2023 as the permanent sanctuary.
Rev. Dr. Gibbs became our pastor in 2023
He joins a long line of Methodist pastors who have been leading our congregation in service to our city.
